Your rights
Disputing an account, or asking for documentation.
If you believe an account is not yours, the amount is wrong, or it was already paid, you can tell us in writing and we will look into it. This page explains how, and what happens after.
Two different things you can ask for
People use the word dispute for both of these, and they are not quite the same.
Validation is asking us to show our work: what the account is, who it started with, and what is owed. You do not need a reason to ask.
A dispute is telling us something is wrong, whether it is the person, the amount, or the fact that it was already paid.
The form below does either. If you are simply not sure about something on the notice, a phone call is usually faster: a person can look the account up and answer the question on the spot. Ways to reach us.

What happens next
We record it
You get a reference number on screen straight away. Keep it. If you ever need to show that you disputed on a given day, that is your proof.
Collection activity pauses
While we look into a disputed account, we stop collection activity on it.

We send you what we have
Documentation of the account goes to the address or email you gave us.

It resolves
Either the account was not yours and it closes, or we show you it is and you decide what to do from there. Both are normal outcomes.

This goes straight to the team that handles them.
